The Isle of Purbeck lies in the extreme south-east corner of Dorset, covers an area of approximately fifty square miles and is surrounded by water on three sides, as well as on part of the fourth, hence the title of ‘Isle’. Purbeck Stone has been used for centuries as a building and decorative stone.
